SUSTAINABILITY

REUSE | RECYCLE | REDUCE | REPAIR | REFUSE | RETHINK

Our focus for 2024 is all about sustainability.

Our brokerage is serious about reducing our carbon footprint & making the planet a better & healthier place for the next generations. Over the year, we are going to be outlining what our company, community partners, and other local businesses are doing to support our mission of sustainability. As a “Fiercely Local” business, we are excited to show you how we not only impact our local community, but also our global community at large. 🌍 💚

RECYCLING

Recycling is converting any waste that can’t be reused or repaired into new materials. Instead of just throwing away items as garbage, products can be recycled and turned into new products that can now be useful.
At our brokerage, we have multiple recycling bins throughout our office space, encouraging people to sort their garbage & recycle. We also use Shred-it, a secure document destruction service to shred out confidential documents, so we know that they will be securely destroyed and recycled afterward! We also have separate garbage bins for recycling, compost, and garbage, so we can ensure a clean recycling process.

REUSING

Reusing means to continue using items over & over, instead of throwing them away and getting a new product. Reusing means giving new life to old items that may no longer be used for their original purpose, but can still be used for something productive & eliminate unnecessary waste!
When you walk into our brokerage, one of the first things you’ll see is our beautiful glass window panes wrapped around our reception desk. The window panes were actually repurposed from an old century home. These window panes served as a safety divider during the pandemic, and continue to be a beautiful, rustic addition to our reception area to this day! Part of the reception desk itself was also made out of old horse stalls from the Royal Winter Fair and adds a distinct character to our front lobby. This unique furniture was all salvaged and given new life by Artefacts, a salvage & design company located in St. Jacobs, ON. Now, instead of being deemed junk, we have beautiful, unique furniture in our office that is consistently admired by clients and visitors alike.
